about the show
Money and finance are among the hardest topics for families to discuss, yet addressing them with family members is vitally important, particularly during difficult economic times and times of transition. To help foster healthy discussion, Lori Sackler, Senior Investment Management Consultant and First Vice President of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney relaunched in 2010 her weekly radio program on WOR AM 710 called The M Word: Money, Family and Communication . The M Word, which most recently aired Sunday nights from 10:30 to 11:00, aims to help listeners understand how families can get through difficult economic and times of transition with effective communication.

Each week, Lori and her distinguished guests ask and answer the hard questions on how to communicate about money during difficult economic times and times of transition.
Each show begins with an overview and research related to the topic, followed by an in depth discussion with distinguished guests. Listeners are invited to email Lori with their questions and concerns, keeping the show focused on topical issues that matter most to the audience.
Lori’s extensive experience in the financial world has provided her with a network of experienced professionals that shel calls upon to appear as guests on the show and help answer listener questions.
Lori has taken a leave of absence while she works on a book based on the concept of the shows. The M Word Podcasts are available on this page or simply click on past shows.
