Teenager Reaches "Seven Summits"
A Southern California teenager is the youngest person ever to complete the so-called "Seven Summits."
When 15-year-old Jordan Romero reached the summit of Antarctica's Vinson Massif on Christmas Eve, he became the youngest person to reach the summit of the highest peaks on all seven continents.
He grew up climbing the mountains around his family's home at Big Bear Lake, east of Los Angeles.
Jordan reached his first major summit when he climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa at age nine.
He became the youngest person to reach the top of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, when he was 13.
