Beginning Dec. 24th at 6pm through Dec. 25th at 6pm
Richer than ever and with even more variety, The WOR Family Christmas Special kicks off at 6:00pm on Christmas Eve and airs until 6:00pm on Christmas Day.
This year’s creative Christmas card begins with a welcoming message by retiring WOR Vice President and General Manager, Bob Bruno, followed by the timeless 1939 production of
A Christmas Carol, produced and narrated by Orson Wells and starring Lionel Barrymore, a tradition for WOR listeners as they start their Christmas Eve celebration.
Midnight Mass from St. Patrick’s Cathedral will be narrated by Newsday columnist Ellis Henican, whose insightful narrative of this celebrated service brings listeners at home “right into the Cathedral.”
The WOR Family Christmas Special will also include a countdown of the Top 20 Christmas Songs of All Time hosted by many of WOR’s on-air personalities, highlights culled from classic radio shows of Christmas past, messages and holiday memories from the entire WOR Family and a sweeping array of holiday music favorites!
