About The WOR Morning Show

Meet the WOR Morning Show Team!

Meet Joe Bartlett
Joe brings warmth and personality while delivering the news with credibility and authority. He has won numerous awards for his reporting. Among the awards are: the 1999 Associated Press Best Feature Award, the New York State Broadcasters Best Feature Award for ‘New York Noise’, The New York Press Club Gold Typewriter Award, and the Society of Professional Journalists Deadline Award for public  service. He has also won Best Newscast and Best Spot News Coverage awards from both the Associated Press and New York State Broadcasters Association.

Meet Donna Hanover
Donna Hanover, former First Lady of NYC, has anchored news and produced TV and radio programs for stations across the country.  She authored the book, My Boyfriend's Back: 50 True Stories of Reconnecting with a Long-Lost Love.  She is also the host of Fine Living's Homes & Hideaways.  As an actress, Donna Hanover has starred in off-Broadway plays and several films, including The People vs. Larry Flynt, for which she received critical acclaim.  Her many television credits include The Practice, Sex and the City, Ally McBeal, and Law & Order.  Donna lives in Manhattan with her son Andrew and her daughter Caroline, and in California with her "long-lost" love, Ed.

Meet Dara Welles, News Anchor and WOR Newsroom Coordinator
Dara Welles is the morning news anchor on WOR. She was asked to join the radio station after impressing her bosses with the ability to climb 23 flights of stairs in the dark while covering the August 2004 blackout. Dara was previously a fill-in news anchor for WQXR, and hosted talk shows on WABC, WNYC and NBC’s TalkNet. Dara prefers radio to television, because she doesn’t have to report for “hair and make-up”. But she has anchored and hosted programs for both local and national TV, including CNN and Long Island public station WLIW21. Dara loves being part of the “WOR Morning Show” and hopes someday to get used to going to bed at 8 o’ clock at night.

Meet Al Randall, Technical Director for the WOR Morning Show
Al Randall has been with WOR radio for nearly 30 years. Prior to working on the WOR Morning Show, he worked with "Rambling With Gambling," serving in the same capacity, working closely with John A. and John R. Prior to that, he served as a vacation producer for the show. Al lives in Manhattan, and in his spare time, is a swing dancing and crossword puzzle aficionado.

Mike Figliola - Executive Producer, The WOR Morning Show
Mike Figliola began his radio career at WOR Radio as an intern in summer of 2000. After a few months of learning the ropes, Mike was hired as a news reporter and desk assistant covering stories around the Metropolitan area. During that time, he split his duties at WOR between shifts at 1010 WINS as a News Producer and at WBGO Radio as a City Hall/New York Beat reporter. In 2004, WOR promoted Mike to full-time producer on various shows including the Morning Show and Food Talk. Now Mike is Executive Producer on The WOR Morning Show how airing on WOR from 5-9am Monday through Friday. When not producing on the airwaves, you can find him playing his guitar at cafes in Brooklyn or Queens or writing his fourth novel. Mike's mantra for life is summed up neatly in one way: On The Road.
