The "Voice" of WOR, radio veteran Tom McCarthy runs a voice over business out of his home in suburban Seattle, Washington. He does voice work for great stations like WOR and their networks, WBZ, WDEL, KSBY-TV and many others, including narrations for Disney, IBM, Red Lobster and GE. Tom started his radio career at the age of 14, building a transmitter kit in electronics class that blew up when he plugged it in. Thus, the hair-loss...Okay, let's try announcing, Tom.
Somewhat more successful behind a mic, his love affair with radio has taken him all over the country ... and finally to Warm 106.9, where Tom does mornings on KRWM!!
When Tom's not on the air, you can usually find him doing station breaks and commercials from his home studio for radio and TV stations in other cities, or under the hood of his '51 Studebaker Business Coupe.
Other distractions include playing guitar, cooking and gardening, but most of all Tom's faith and family mean a lot to him.
Those of us at WOR who have in the past worked with Tom know that it is extremely dangerous to take him to an "all you can eat" restaurant…..because most restaurants don't know how his definition of "all you can eat"!! Tom also loves to snack on raisins….especially around Christmas time!
